New Deal Texas and the West

Inspired by the 90th anniversary of the New Deal (1933-1943), the exhibition New Deal Texas and the West features federally funded art produced by American artists during the Great Depression (1929-1941) and collected by The Dallas Museum of Art. Focusing especially on New Deal art produced in and about Texas, the exhibition also includes images and objects of scenes and subjects in the Western states of New Mexico and Oklahoma, and work made across the nation in media ranging from murals and prints to sculptures and textiles. This exhibition is organized by The University of Texas at Dallas in collaboration with The Dallas Museum of Art. On view at the Edith and Peter O'Donnell Jr. Athenaeum. Athenaeum hours: 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday. Free admission.
